Was a perfect tenant and even cleaned the place when moved out. Would never do business with them again and I work for a relocation company so Alan Tauber will lose all my business. I place approximately 20-40 tenants in NYC per month! His loss!
I put a deposit on a property, but Tauber property decided to give the apartment to a tenant who promised to pay more. Michael Tauber refused to return the $500 cash deposit to me until I sought outside help and called repeatedly to get it back. I lived in a Tauber building for 6 years. They were wonderful landlords and Alan Tauber worked with me when it was time to move out. Even though I was breaking my lease because I lost my job, he listed the apartment got it rented and returned my security deposit. He went above and beyond. THANKS!!!!

The press has reported (in a number of papers) the tauber gang has close to 1000 violations w the city. Keep posting those fake coments alan while you try to save your sleeezy name. its well known by your tennants what a low life you are and thats why most are now going to use their sec deposit as their last mo. rent. I have never seen anything like his company, he has kept my 3 months security deposit and now I have to take him to court, he won't pick up the phone, answer emails, etc... ! How can they get along with this for so long ? How can real estate brokers still work with him ? How can we help other people to not be fooled by him again ?
hey folks..check out his facebook pictures..and everyone never use any companies that rent out his places...too bad that in this world there are people like him..they are never happy...eait till his kids read what people type...all they have to do is a word search and he is embarrassing he is whole family..deposit laws are there to protect tenents.I called one company up and they did a profile look-up and they couldnt believe the complaints..

Has anyone had success receiving a security deposit from Alan Tauber or Tauber Real Estate? I am having tremendous difficulty obtaining an answer from Tauber Real Estate (212.799.6965) as to when I will receive my SD back. I vacated the premises on June 30, 2013, as the lease was terminated effective July 1, 2013. It'll be 60 days tomorrow... I have hired an attorney and believe it's time to file a complaint for breach of contract.
If there was any damage to the apartment then the landlord has a right to keep a portion of, or all of the deposit to cover damages. If you feel that the apartment was left in "broom clean" condition, then he must refund all of the deposit. You should write a letter to the landlord telling him that you intend to file a civil action against him to get the deposit back. Be sure to send the letter registered, return receipt so you can show proof in court that you contacted the landlord and got no response. Many times a letter will get a response; if not, then keep your word and file a civil lawsuit in small claims court. Good Luck.
After 2 years of living in a Tauber building I never saw this man's face or even got him on the phone. Seems shady. They refused to fix the broken (unable to lock) front door of my building. It took two complaints about homeless people staying in the foyer for them to finally fix it. It's been 6 months since I moved out & they refuse to send me my security deposit. They want me to schedule a time to pick it up. I've never had a worse experience than with Tauber. It's unbelievable.

I had issues with my apartment from the moment I moved in. Nothing worked, not even the front door lock. Worst landlord in NYC. DO NOT RENT HERE.
I rented a building from Tauber Properties with Mike and Larry. I explained to them my hesitation after reading the info that is written on ere about Alan. They are a different company. Alan is Tauber Real Estate. they are Tauber Properties. They are not related. so far, great experience. I'll keep you posted.

The free apartment rent history will provide necessary information to confirm that you are receiving the proper services and, most importantly, not being over-charged.
Call the number below and ask them to mail your apartment's rent history statement to you. Landlords are not notified that tenants have requested a copy. You should get it by mail in a few days.
